Magicks is a child Shrouder. She is introduced later in the series despite being a prominent member of the Conclave.

Story

Between the events of the Shadow Crisis and Shadows Jubilee, Dienara was stricken by a sudden surge in Shadow activity in what would become known as the Dienara Incident. During this attack, many people disappeared including Claudette's close friend, Rose Kepler. While she watched, her friend, Zhen, became consumed by darkness.

Raised the daughter of Euvaria's Queen Miriel, Princess Threnodia bell Miracula would go on to learn she was the daughter of Claudius Einhardt and that her grandmother was Cecilia Rainheed. She was born Claudette Cain, but was renamed to match theme to Euvarian royalty.

As a teenager, she began sneaking out to visit Davneon, taking on the identity of Reina Daviana where she would meet and befriend future Dienaran sherriff, Lazarus Cartelan.

In Davneon, she joined a local band, Seether, alongside Beauxtus Arcturus and Diphas Claremont which produced such mesmerizing music they were quickly hired to displace Club Ostia's lounge act Jesse Bielus.

Personality

Magicks is a quiet individual. She can be cheerful at times but she is usually rather timid, particularly hoping to avoid conflict.

Appearance

Magicks appears to be a young girl approximately 13 or 14 years old. She stands at 4'6", has white hair and hazel eyes. Her outfit consists of a pauldroned leather vest and blouse combo with a short dress that buttons on the side and opens at the waist. She wears a pair of large bell-bottomed shorts which resembles a skirt when she stands upright. There are durable box-shaped pockets fastened to the shorts. On her hands are a pair of over-sized gloves with white fingers. On her feet is a pair of knee-high boots laced all the way to the top.

Magicks has a secondary form that is 5'8" tall with long, flowing blonde hair. Her bustline increases and her clothes become more revealing as they loosen to compensate.

Allegories

Magicks has some characteristics in common with Alice Liddel, disappearing from her home, being transformed in size.

Etymology

Magic is derived of the term magi, the name of a sect of Zarathustrans from 6th century BCE. However, as her name is said to mean "God's pearl" in this case it actually seems to be a portmanteau of the nicknames Madge (Margaret "pearl") and Jack (John "God is gracious").

Creation

Magicks is inspired by a real-life individual no taller than five feet with a non-confrontational and sometimes a bit naive and gullible personality. Her ability to transform is inspired by Nel from BLEACH.
