A captain of the Exploratory Naval fleet from Solaris, Epimethius' crew discovered the crashed Rienan vessel marooned on Anvar long before the Great Pilgrimage and, using it to gain advantage over the native D'raka living on the continent of Endosylvania, he installed himself as king.
Story []
Formerly a close friend of King Alverinth, having been struck with the pangs of ambition from a young age, Epimethius had ingratiated himself to nobles in order to best suit his career and station. He longed to own the kind of power kings had to command entire realms. Epimethius was sent on a mission to discover new lands.
Upon discovery of Endosylvania and its native people, Epimethius began plotting to eradicate the savages and lay claim to the region. However, these Endosylvanians were not so easily defeated, particularly with the help of their tree deity. Fortunately, Epimethius' soldiers discovered an ancient Rienan artifact, a floating island the self-described king would name Aetheria. When he found the ancient Rienan city with its floatation system intact and functional, he saw his chance to lord over the superstitious lot. However, while the newly dubbed Aetherians were quite comfortable acknowledging Epimethius' claim to power, the native Endosylvanians were not so quick to bow.
Shortly after declaring himself king, Epimetheus was assassinated and General Ephraim Lot was quicky thereafter installed as Regent until a proper successor could be found.
